F'n Gorjess...

It's been a while since I've posted a Gorjess post. I was really excited about this jacket that I picked up from the Goodwill yesterday, so naturally I wore it yesterday after steaming it! I also found these Boutique 9 boots at Marshall's for only $20.00, which were originally $250.00. Bracelets from Forever 21. Ring from vintage shop in Georgetown. Well since I haven't really spoken some food for thought in the recent weeks, I' ll leave u all with this thought. Yes I understand a man should never put his hands on a woman. However, In the case of Chris Brown and Rihanna, I am simply just F'n tired of hearing/seeing it reported. Okay so the "F" what, we do not know what happened, we are speculating and criticizing. Women get assaulted everyday, why are we making this case such a big F'n deal when neither parties have yet to confirm what happened. Again this is my blog, I say what I F'n want! I am a fan of Brown and Rihanna and more so a Rihanna fan, I just don't get media & entertainment folks! People take my advice grow up, get a life and focus on something better in life!

The District...

N.Y has the Soho district and the meat district and L.A. has its fashion district, and D.C. is known as the District of Columbia...In N.C. we have "DC" or Durham County. While out and about skimming the sales racks looking for a little something extra, just felt like shopping today...I came across some great deals. I was originally out looking for some things for my vacation next week however, I came across more stuff that I don't need, but could not live without!!

I remember the first time I saw Kanye perform live...It was
four years ago. Usher was the headliner and Ye' was the opening act. Even then I knew that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with. He had an incredible stage presence even then. So now fast forward to 2008 and we have Rhianna, N.E.R.D., Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco...Hands down Kanye had the hearts of the crowd! For almost two hours he had the crowd screaming and chanting. His tribute to his mother, the late Dr. Donda West who died in November 2007, was so touching. All in all, anytime Ye's in town...I'm down!

Saturday Night Live...

Bridge and I went over to a b-day cookout for some friends, that they were having at the park. Afterwards, we went to the Katt Williams, It's Pimpin' Pimpin' concert. She was so overwhelmed that when he came on stage blasting Jay-Z, she ran to the front of the stage and remained there until the end of his set. The show was okay...he's a funny dude, but it wasn't side cracking. The show openers where definitely hilarious. Other than that we saw every dude all coupled up for the event. Giving us hope that relationships do exist more so than cut-buddies (sike)...but that's another post. All in all we had a good time.

HERE ARE PICS OF ME ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT MY BROTHER'S HOUSE. HE HAS A BEAUTIFUL BACKYARD WITH AWESOME VIEWS...ONE THING I CAN SAY ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA, IS THAT THERE ARE SO MANY PICTURESQUE VIEWS. SO SINCE WE'RE ON THE TOPIC OF SUNDAYS, WE ALL KNOW MOST PEOPLE ATTEND CHURCH ON SUNDAYS, MYSELF BEING ONE OF THEM. NOW LATELY I HAVEN'T BEEN AS REGULAR AS I SHOULD, BUT I DO ATTEND. BUT I JUST WANT TO ADDRESS THE FACT THAT BACK IN THE BIBLE DAYS THERE WERE PROPHETS. WHEN DID WE GET IN TO THE ERA OF PASTORS AND PREACHERS? TO ME THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO...PROPHETS LEAD PEOPLE TO CHRIST WITHOUT ANY PERSONAL GAIN. THERE MAIN GOAL WAS TO UNITE SAINTS WITH GOD WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION OF PERSONAL GAIN. PREACHERS AND PASTORS (YES THEY'RE THE SAME) THEY CLAIM TO BE UNITING PEOPLE AND STEERING THEM TOWARDS CHRIST, BUT IT SEEMS THAT THEY'RE NOT LEADING PEOPLE TOWARDS CHRIST. THEY ARE TEACHING THE CONGREGATIONS TO WORSHIP MONETARY SUBSTANCES AND WORLDLY POSSESSIONS. AND WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS, WHY IS THAT THE HERDS OF PEOPLE WHO LISTEN TO THESE MESSAGES HANG BY THE EVERY WORD OF THESE PEOPLE...THEY ARE NOT HELPING YOU FIND YOURSELF IN CHRIST. WHAT BRINGS UPON THESE THOUGHTS, IS A CONVERSATION THAT I HAD WITH MY FRIEND THIS MORNING...WE WERE DISCUSSING A ROAD TRIP THAT WE'RE PLANNING TO TAKE NEXT WEEK, SHE STATES THAT SHE DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE HER CAR BECAUSE IT'S A V6, BUT THEY WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR ( A 2008 V8 GT MUSTANG SUPREME). HOW MUCH SINCE DOES THAT MAKE? NONE. IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME BECAUSE I LOVE MY CAR, I LOVE DRIVING IT, I LOVE TAKING CARE OF IT AND I LOVE THAT I WORK AND HAVE WORKED HARD TO PAY FOR IT. SO SHE MAKES THE COMMENT THAT HER PASTOR, PREACHED ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE THAT IN HIS SERMON SUNDAY. HE STATES THAT PEOPLE SHOULD NOT GO OUT AND BUY V6'S AND V8 CARS BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT ECONOMICAL NOR PRACTICAL (I'M NOT QUOTING HIM B/C I'M SURE HIS MESSAGE HAD MUCH MORE OF AN ANGLE). WHAT I FIND TO BE THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN ONE GOES OUT TO BUY A V6 OR A V8 AUTOMOBILE, THEY NEED TO FIRST CONSIDER THE FACT THAT GAS PRICES ARE GOING TO BE MUCH MORE STEEPER THAN A 4-CYLINDER CAR. SO WE'VE ALREADY FACTOR HIGHER GAS PRICES IN THE UPKEEP OF OUR UNPRACTICAL VEHICLES. SECONDLY, HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THE PASTOR'S ECONOMICAL AUTOMOBILES? HUMM...I'VE NEVER WITH MY OWN BIG BROWN EYES, IN 24 YEARS SEEN A PASTOR/PREACHER, DRIVING A HONDA CIVIC OR A DODGE NEON OR EVEN A HYBRID CAR. SO IS ANYONE TO TELL A CONGREGATION THAT THEY SHOULD GO OUT AND PURCHASE NEWER, CHEAPER VEHICLES TO BE MORE ECONOMICAL? WHY? IS IT THAT WITH RISING GAS PRICES AND A STRUGGLING CONGREGATION THAT YOUR OFFERING PLATES WITH BEGIN TO BE BARE? HUMM... HOWEVER, I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST CHURCH OR RELIGION. BUT, I DO BELIEVE THAT RELIGION AND GOD IS WITHIN YOU! DO NOT LET SOMEONE DICTATE HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE.

I went to the nail shop today and whilst conjuring up a new ideas for a hue, I decided to dress my nails in blue again! Last week I opted for the Chanel Blue Satin (461).
