Finally a Look We Luv...

Beyonce does candid justice with her gray leather moto jacket. It's been a while since I've seen Bey candidly fab! Although this look may seem borrowed from fellow industry mate Rihanna Bey makes it work for her...

The Audacity of Hope...

THE STATE OF THIS UNION

The election of President Barack Hussein Obama is truly, truly the one triumph that gives all Americans and others across the world the Audacity of Hope. He makes everyone want to do better things, participate in selfless acts and get involved in their communities. As I was downtown in DC over this past week, I felt overwhelmed by tears of happiness and the Audacity of Hope. I can't help but feel like we've made three giant leaps forward, but feel like we are warped in the 50's and 60's and 70's. I was listening to the Michael Baisden show and callers were calling in as he was speaking with a member of congress about Americans who are losing their homes as I type this blog post. Unemployment rates are increasing at triple the rate as at this time last year and believe it or not racism is still existing today even with the election of President Barack Obama. It exists in our communities, in the media and even at our places of work. The state of our Union makes my soul weep. We must and will overcome these adversaries and we are starting with the election of President Barack Obama. I know this may get me in a little trouble but I have to say it anyway because this is MY blog. However, my job allows its employees to select which holidays they'd like to work for each year, of course the selection process is based on seniority, however I found it epically amazing that 95% of the African Americans who selected to have Martin Luther King day off for the 2009 holiday year were denied. I know this is not coincidence because those with seniority did not want MLK day off. Amazingly these employees were of a different race other than African American. This was a major disappointment to me finding that this type of mass oppression still exists in Corporate America. So as you can guess you know what I did... Hell-to-the-nawl, my black a** called out! I am not about to let anyone stand in the way of my Audacity of Hope!

Celeb Inspired Coifs

Look 1. Brooke Crittenden

Try this pixie short crop. A good pomade and relaxer are key, trust and believe you will be breaking a sweat will all the people expected to be in attendance!

Look 2. Heidi Klum

This look is very elegant and very chic. It can be worn dressed up or dressed down. The key is to make it look effortless but well put together.

Look 3. Zoe Saldana
Princess Ringlets are great for any style. The key to pull of this coif is volume, volume and more volume (not to the point of a Beyonce 2001 MTV Awards sea biscuit). Add a few extensions or a whole weave, this look does not go over well when flat.

Look 3. Megan Fox
This up-do is very, very haute. I'd rock this on a daily basis to protect my strands. However, as you can see if done right you can pull this bun off by day out on the town or at night at whatever inauguration event you decide to hit up.

Look 5. Rihanna
Of course this list would not be complete without our den mother, Ri Ri. This I Love Lucy mane is perfect for my girls with a little edge. Try if you will!

Celeb inspired quick tips

Divas:

Look 1 : Rihanna The One-Piece

Try this on for size for a more sophisticated, simple and classic look. If you go with a monochromatic scheme pair with bold jewelry of the same scheme. If you dare to spice it up just add a punch of color in the shoes and accessories.

Look 2: Lauren London Cute & Frilly Sweetheart

This look is for all my girly girls who like to spice it up. Show off curves and assets with above the knee dresses and skirts. Add flowers and prints for feminine spice. Don't be afraid to try these looks in color, however, unless wearing black shy away from a monochromatic disaster (i.e. all blue, red, teal etc)

Look 3: Beyonce Colorful, Curvaceous Swexy

For all of my hippie sistahs, try this ensemble for a great way to define curves. Shy away from bright colors or bold patterned mermaid dresses of this sort (they make you look bigger). If you choose a dress with rich color pair with simple accessories and shoes (i.e. gold, silver, black). No pun intended, but if you do NOT already have curves, this dress type will not define what is NOT already there.

Look 4: Jada Pinkett-Smith Rock Glamour
So you have edge and you have to show it at all times. Go with a dress that is feminnine but contrasts with studs or leather. Accessorize with hard jewelery such as pyramid studs, leather and clutch. Color can also be added to this combination in sprouts. It can be hard to pull of if the main piece is color and edgy, BE CAREFUL!
